New Fabric: Old Glory Gatherings

We have received lots of fun new fabric lines this week! First is one that we're really excited about! It's a beautiful patriotic fabric line called Old Glory Gatherings by Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics.

This is a collaboration of vintage, patriotic and primitive designs, inspired from a time when life was simpler...Stars and stripes are worn and loved in various shades of red, tan and blue. Little remnants of classic Americana are gathered together for a timeless collection called Old Glory Gatherings.

Fun with Pfaff Embroidery

You might be wondering...What ever would I do with an embroidery machine? Well, we have a couple of darling quilts in our shop right now that are sure to get you excited about embroidery!

First, is this darling "Monsters" quilt that Lori created using Designs by JuJu. Such a fun quilt to have for Halloween! You have to come into the shop to see this cutie!

You've probably all seen the amazing "Stitcher's Garden 2" quilt created by Debbie...this is a fun club/class that we have started at Quilted Works! It's not too late to join the club! Call us or come in for details. We can even ship the kits to customers outside of Southern Utah! Our next Stitcher's Garden "Sewing Club" will be held the week of Nov. 17th with many class times to choose from!

And last, is this fun "Love Letters" quilt that we'll be starting up classes on in January! It will be another "Sewing Club" and we know you'll all LOVE it! We had a chance to have the Lunch Box Quilts designer, Angie Steveson, in our store! What a talented Lady!

New Fabric: Collections for a Cause "Warmth"

We just received the newest Howard Marcus fabric from Moda ...

Collections for a Cause "Warmth" is the latest reproduction quilt collection. It harkens back to a more simple time and place. In 1830's New Jersey subtlety of color and simplicity of design were common characteristics among local quilters.

Download this free quilt pattern from the Moda website!

This quilt features an eight pointed beauty, the LeMoyne Star, in a subdued palette of cream and cocoa brown calicoes. Accent colors within the stars in a variety of faded reds, indigo blues and even a pop of green provide a spark of Warmth. The original quilt from the Howard Marcus Collection is an 1830s variable star quilt found in New Jersey.

By recreating this beautiful quilt you can play an important role in Supporting the Cause, and help Habitat for Humanity spread Warmth to those less fortunate. All proceeds from this collection, will be donated to Habitat for Humainity, whose vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Seam Fix - Seam Ripper

We are so excited about this new notion! We all love it when something new is invented that we just have to have in our sewing tools. We know that no one (except us) EVER makes mistakes or has to un-pick a seam...but, if by chance you DO need a seam ripper, this is sure to be your favorite!

This tool is as useful as a pair of scissors! The seam ripper has a sharp blade, safety ball and lid. What makes this seam ripper different than all the others? It comes with innovative thread removers on each end.

Classes Week of Oct. 8 - 13

Block of the Week: Christmas Wall Quilt
Monday, Oct. 8 - 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 5:30 pm

Our newest Block of the Week quilt will be a wall hanging for Christmas. The pattern is by Kimberbell and is called "Tis the Season to be Giving." Classes begin Monday, Oct. 8th. Demo classes will be each Monday at 10:30, 12:30 and 5:30 if you are interested in seeing how the block was constructed, or simply pick up your kit any time that day (to take advantage of "Deal of the Day"), or anytime afterward. Or if you prefer, we'll ship it right to your door!

Enrollment fee is $45 and includes complete pattern, 6 block kits, and demos. A finishing kit is also available for $35.00.

Be sure to join us for our Block of the Month this Saturday. We are still working on our "Explosion" quilt!
